1.Logon to Grants.gov, where you'll find a wealth of information on the different types of grants available to individuals and organizations.
2.Search through the different grants that are available to you. There are literally thousands of grants available. Take your time to find the best grant for your needs.

3.Record the Opportunity Number for the grant you wish to apply for. You will need this number for all work pertaining to your grant application.
4.Register with Grants.gov. You must be registered before you can apply for the grant. To begin registration, enter the Opportunity Number in the supplied box. You will be redirected to an eAuthentication site to verify your identity and digital signature.
5.Enter the requested information. You will be asked to supply your name, address, birth date, email address and phone number. After your information is accepted, you will be asked to create a user name and password.
6.Select a user name and password. The password must be at least eight characters long, with one special character, one uppercase letter and one number. When your password and user name are accepted, you will be granted level 1 credentials to apply for grants.
7.Logon to the Grants.gov website with your new user name and password. Fill in the appropriate fields to complete your site registration.
8.Receive authorization. Then, you will be able to complete your grant application. Once you have applied for the grant, you may be required to submit more information. Grant applications can take from two weeks to several months to process. Be patient. Remember that you can apply for more than one grant at a time.
